Ambulance Inflation Factor Raises Rates January 1, 2017
Every year, Medicare Part B carriers adjust their payment rates for ambulance providers and suppliers who transport Medicare beneficiaries. The Ambulance Inflation Factor, can be an increase or decrease, depending on calculations performed by the federal government. The adjustment for 2016 was a negative -0.3%, the 2017 rate adjustment offers a small improvement. Beginning with claims for service dates of January 1, 2017, current ambulance payment rates will increase by 0.7%. A small but badly needed increase for our industry.
